In 2024, Cox Yeats proudly partnered with The Domino Foundation to launch a year-long literacy project at Amaoti 3 Secondary School, turning what was initially a Mandela Day initiative into a sustainable impact programme.
The firm sponsored:
- RITE Readers for Grade 8 & 9 learners struggling with foundational literacy
- A dedicated Cox Yeats Ambassador, Ms Nobuhle Ndlovu, to bridge the gap between the school, learners, and Domino Foundation educators
- A full-time Literacy Champion, Ms Dudu Hazel, who ran in-class and after-school literacy sessions
- Career guidance, Matric exam support, and funding for tertiary applications
This initiative significantly improved literacy performance, attendance, and engagement:
- Grade 8 scores rose from 43% to 60%
- Grade 9 scores rose from 65% to 80%
- A student-led reading club was born, further inspiring a culture of learning
As a firm committed to education and empowerment, Cox Yeats is honoured to support this legacy of literacy. With the right partnerships, change really does begin on the page.
